New Vaccination Order Includes Athletic Therapists

Today, a new Public Health Order signed by the Minister of Health and Seniors Care, authorizes athletic therapists to administer the COVID-19 vaccine.

New Restrictions for Province as of November 12th

As per the email sent to membership earlier today, the MATA is pleased to communicate to members that we have received clarification on the new restrictions and how the Athletic Therapy profession fits within them.

Certified Athletic Therapists are able to continue to treat patients during the Critical level (red) period of the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System.

Code Orange for Winnipeg Metro Area as of September 28th

Please be reminded that as of September 28th, the Winnipeg Metropolitan area will be elevating the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System level to Restricted (orange).

COVID Updates - September 8th

The province of Manitoba has released the #RESTARTMB Pandemic Response System. The report is intended to help people understand the current level of risk and the public health guidance that must be followed. The Pandemic Response System is four colour-coded levels with easily identifiable symbols.  They can be applied at a provincial level or an even more focused regional, community, sector or facility level, if required.

Phase Four Recommendations

As you know, Manitoba is currently in Phase 4 of the Restoring Safe Services Plan.

Please be reminded that the lifting of travel restrictions and self-isolation for travellers has not proceed and has been deferred at this time

Phase Two Recommendations

With the start of 'Phase Two - Restoring Services' by the Manitoba Government, please note that there are no significant changes to the PPE or screening recommendations sent by MATA on May 12th or found below.  Please also note, that due to the fact that Athletic Therapy is not a regulated profession, the occupancy levels must remain at 50% of normal business level or one person per 10 square meters (as per the exert from the Shared Health website below).  MATA recognizes that many MATA members work in multidisciplinary clinics, many of which will include both regulated and non regulated pr
